about
During the pandemic lockdown in Ontario, Canada, many of us had a bit of extra downtime, and a musical itch to scratch. I was lucky to have buds who are technically able, and willing, to collaborate remotely, during the times we were prevented from sharing the same space.
One such collaboration involved a group of 6 musicians from various bands from in and around the city of Ottawa (We Were Sharks, Iconoclast, Autumns Cannon, Valley Mountain, In Heat). Because of the impromptu nature of the collaboration, I called the group "Gents on Loan".
Recorded (remotely) in basements and attics in Ottawa, during the Covid pandemic lockdown, the result was a radio friendly, upbeat pop punk song and video (the closest thing to a live performance that we are allowed where we live, for now). So far, several people have said the song was stuck in their head! (ear worm!)
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated,
Casey Conner
lyrics
I, would literally die,
Without you by my side,
I swear my tears would run dry,
Without you in my life,
I don't want to hear it's over,
I don't want to hear we're done,
I won't deny obsession,
I just know that she's the one.
Don't make me list the reasons,
Just a feeling in my heart,
And as we finish seasons,
I always knew it from the start, that
I, would literally die,
Without you by my side,
I swear my tears would run dry,
Without you in my life,
And I, I thank my lucky stars,
That made you who you are,
And run away with me.
I'm staring over my shoulder,
To make sure you're still there,
And as we're growing older,
Know it's a feeling that we share.
Don't make me list the reasons,
Just a feeling in my heart,
And as we finish seasons,
I always knew it from the start
I, would literally die,
Without you by my side,
I swear my tears would run dry,
Without you in my life,
And I, I thank my lucky stars,
That made you who you are,
And run away with me.
